What outfits to wear for Fall Family Photos
When deciding on outfits, think about color βfamiliesβ or “temperatures” and try to keep everyone in either cool tones (more blue and grey) OR warm tones (camel, sage green, blush, off white, etc).
Adding TEXTURES like knits and woven material will help add variety even in the same color family, and layers are great for adding additional depth to your photos, and warmth, too.
What colors are best for fall family photo outfits?
Most families tend to gravitate toward darker colors and heavier jewel tones with styling for the Fall months.
I recommend balancing the traditional Fall colors out with neutrals as much as possible, especially if you are one of my clients who appreciates my light & airy editing style. Lighter lighter tones will be more consistent with photos I’ve already captured for your family and blend right in with your favorites from past sessions. This is especially important to think of when considering adding framed photos to your existing gallery walls or the annual family album you are already in the process of building with me!
Lighter, more neutral color patterns help us to keep the focus on the EMOTION in the imagery in your portraits, and maintain a timeless look in the imagery.
