Full-Service sessions instead of Fall Mini Sessions captured by a Virginia Beach family photographer

Are you thinking about booking fall mini sessions in Virginia Beach? Before you do, it’s worth considering what you might be giving up compared to a full-service photography experience in Virginia Beach. On the surface, minis can seem quick and convenient, but there is a downside that leaves families feeling like they missed out on a special experience.

Let’s break down the difference so you can make the best choice for your family this fall.

What Is A Full-Service Photography Experience?

Booking a full-service session with a Virginia Beach photographer is so much more than hiring someone to snap a few quick shots. It creates a personalized experience that makes the entire shoot a relaxing experience. You’ll be focused on having fun with the family, not stressing about the little details.

From the moment you reserve your session, I’ll guide you through the process step by step. Everything from choosing outfits from my client’s wardrobe to professional hair and makeup is included. My goal is to completely pamper my mamas – taking away all of the mental load of planning a photoshoot.

When the session is over, I won’t leave you with a ton of photos to sort through. Instead, I’ll help you design heirloom albums and artwork to bring those memories to life (I’ll even come to your home and hang them myself!).

While it might sound good on paper – show up for 15 minutes and get beautiful photos of your family, there are some downsides to choosing a fall mini session. Here are a few reasons why I recommend avoiding them:

Rushed Experience

Mini sessions usually last around 10–20 minutes, which doesn’t leave much time for kids (or parents!) to relax and capture authentic moments. If your little one needs to reset, cuddle, nurse, or take a break, you won’t have time to get them regulated before starting again. Instead of naturally showcasing the personality of your family, it can be pretty rushed, which tends to show up in your photographs.

Lack Of Authentic Moments

The best photos capture that beautiful bond between families. This might look like gentle moments of play, laughs between siblings, or even sweet, quiet moments. However, capturing these types of photos takes time to get the family to warm up, which isn’t what fall mini sessions provide. When you choose a full session, you’re allowing more authentic moments to be captured, instead of a standard ‘smiling at the camera’ photo you’ll get from a fall mini.

More Prep Work For Mamas

With mini sessions, you’re responsible for it all, mama. You’ll be responsible for planning outfits, making sure the kids are ready, and doing your own makeup/hair. Oh, and of course, arriving at the right time to fit into that short scheduled slot. This is a lot to take on, on top of everything you already do, which can leave you feeling stressed instead of excited about the experience.

Wrapping It Up: Are Fall Mini Sessions In Virginia Beach Worth It?

This fall, instead of booking a rushed mini session, let’s create something special. As your Virginia Beach photographer, I’ll take care of the details so you can enjoy the moment with your family. Contact me today to book your full-service session and capture memories you’ll treasure for years to come.
